Cybertonica announces appointment of Jane Butler as Chairperson of the Board

London, November 5th 2019

Cybertonica, an award-winning transaction fraud and risk management company has appointed Jane Butler, former Cisco Global CTO and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at UCL in London, to the role of Chairperson.

Jane Butler spent 30 years in the Internet industry where she helped grow Cisco from a small start-up to the global company it is today.

Whilst based in Silicon Valley, Jane actively supported several small companies to grow and exit alongside running a Foundation looking at Internet access in parts of the world lacking infrastructure. She is the author of wndw.net used as a standard text worldwide.

The move comes as Cybertonica continues its fast growth with new products and investment along with entering the US market in the coming months.

Joshua Bower-Saul, Cybertonica’s CEO, noted “Jane has been a valuable member of the Board and Chair of our Advisory Board and it was the logical step for her now to take on Chairperson of the main Board.  As we move towards a full series A round in early 2020 Jane’s experience in helping companies grow and successfully exit will be particularly valuable.”

Jane Butler commented “I owe a deep gratitude to the previous Chairperson Victor Orlovski, and recognise the achievements of the Board and management team over the last three years to grow Cybertonica to its current position in the market. I joined the team last year and my conviction in the cutting edge solution they are bringing to market over time has only grown. Cybertonica has something unique to offer the payments industry, challenger banks and incumbents that in future will become a standard for authentication, financial risk management and AML and fraud prevention. I am honoured to join the team as Chair of the Board and look forward to taking Cybertonica to the next level.”

Victor Orlovski, the founding Chairman and angel investor in Cybertonica is stepping down to focus on venture fund activities with Fort Ross Ventures in Menlo Park, California.

Victor Orlovski, out-going Chairman, commented “Cybertonica is about to enter the next phase of growth and needs a Chairperson who is locally engaged and has the level of experience and network reach in Europe and the Valley that Jane Butler brings to us. Jane is already an active Board member so the handover will be seamless as she assumes the full role with the support of the entire organisation.”
